Link Building & it's Importance

link building and its importance

What is Link Building?

Link building is the process of obtaining hyperlinks/backlinks from other websites to your own. These hyperlinks are usually used by a user to navigate between the pages on the internet.

Not only users use these links to navigate but search engines also use these links to crawl the web.

Why Link Building is Important?

Link Building is important because Google confirms that alongside great content links are the #1 ranking factor and ranking without links is way too hard.

Here are some points on why links are important.

  • Links are Google's #1 ranking factor.
  • Through links, search engines discover your website.
  • Links are the WEB
  • Links point to great content.
  • Links pass power.
  • Links pass trust.
  • Google confirmed that it would be unnatural to find a website without any backlinks.

Now you know what is link building and why it is important so here some methods for link building.

Not all the links are equal so you need to be very careful when you start a link building campaign.

Most Important or we can say effective techniques of building links for your business or customers are

  • Reciprocal Linking
  • Guest Posting or Article Marketing
  • Web Directory Links/ Business Listings
  • Forum and Blog Posts Comments

But performing all these tasks will be of no use unless you do these in a better way. The only way to rank higher in the search result is to build high-quality links.

Reciprocal Linking. (Link exchange method).

As we know excess of anything is bad. Too much reciprocal linking will negatively impact a website’s ranking in search results. So don’t do reciprocal linking excessively and always do reciprocal linking on topics that make sense from a user standpoint.

Guest Posting or Article Marketing

Always use hyperlinks in articles or press releases distributed on other websites but in a limited and natural way. Stuffing the anchor text with commercial keywords will definitely get you in trouble. So using brand keywords or navigational phrases is a good option.

Web Directory Links/ Business Listings.

Always add your website to the best directories which also provide useful information for your potential customers. Building links in related directories and directories attached to informative websites relevant to your industry are beneficial for you.

Forum and Blogposts Comments.

Participate in an active discussion on a forum or blog that is relevant to your business and try to provide contextual value to the discussion. In this way, you don’t have to worry about sharing a relevant link. Using anchor tags for brand keywords can help a lot.

Don’t Buy Links.

Links bought from sites that openly state (on their site or elsewhere) that they sell links are your ticket to a Google Penalty!

So instead of buying links, you can invest in creating high-quality content and promoting your site in a way that attracts natural backlinks.
